“Although this track was created in a bedroom, it is meant to be enjoyed anywhere but.”
WORDS BY RACHEL GRICE
Sheffield-based beat maker Harman Sondh has started 2021 off with a bang. His latest release, Mutation, gives us a taste of what we can expect from the young musician in the coming year.
In short, Mutation embodies 21st of June 2021: clubs reopen (if all goes well). This track encapsulates that feeling of euphoria when you’re stood in the middle of the dancefloor with your best mates and the beat drops. It’s smiling at yourself in the toilet mirror and it’s walking home down the middle of the road. It is optimistic and hopefully manifesting the summer to come.
Although this track was created in a bedroom, it is meant to be enjoyed anywhere but.
With Mutation, Harman is starting to define himself as a manipulator of noise, creating soundscapes that ebb and flow with rich and restless beats. The carefully layered synths push you on a journey with the creator and you can’t help but get swept along. It’s the only kind of mutation we want to see in a virus riddled year. This an exciting time to be a Harman Sondh fan and we can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for him.
